Despite a mixed response the film has evoked, Venkat Prabhu's 'Goa' has been witnessing a tremendous reception from film-buffs, especially youngsters, if theatre sources are to be believed.

"Venkat Prabhu's films are known for striking a chord with youngsters. And 'Goa' is doing it perfectly. Audiences are thoroughly enjoying the movie," a highly placed source at a leading multiplex in Chennai said.

The source added: "Forget about the advance booking done for first three days which is normal for any movie that raised the expectations of the public. ’Goa' is running full houses even today (fifth and a working day) and our shows are fully occupied till the end of this week."

Echoing this, another source at another multiplex said, "Many movie-goers have indeed welcomed the bold (gay) theme handled by Venkat Prabhu. This is visible from the applause they are giving to some first-of-its-kind scenes in Tamil cinema 'Goa' has."

"This shows audiences are ready to encourage and support different attempts. They are always there to back quality cinema and 'Goa' is another example to it," according to the source.

Meanwhile, the 'Goa' team too is seems to be happy about the response the film has been getting. In a live chat show on a television channel Monday night, the crew members said: "We are happy about the end-product and the reactions it has evoked. We need all your support and hopeful of getting it again and again."

Produced by Soundarya Rajinikanth (Ocher Picture Productions), 'Goa', which has Premji, Jai, Vaibhav, Sneha and Piya among others in lead roles, hit screens worldwide Friday last.
